Course Outline
This mini course consists of a series of four high intensity lectures, which cover the following topics:

Introduction to the Japanese writing system

Detailed tutorials and practice of kana writing

Suggestions to improve handwriting
-
Basic memorization techniques
-
Commentary on popular self-study resources

​Japanese pronunciation
Lessons last one hour each, and are followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. After each lesson you will receive a PDF handout, an interactive flashcard list, an interactive quiz with automatic feedback, and a link to a video recording of the class.

This course is offered at a discounted price when purchased together with our Japanese 101 course.

ー A non-refundable advance payment is required for this class. We will wait until a minimum of five people have signed up for the class to send out invoices. Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, and Navy Federal transactions are accepted.

ー If the instructor is indisposed and cannot attend one or more meetings, new dates will be provided as soon as possible.

ー If you want to receive extra support in the form of a private tutoring session, please contact us at luisalanguageteaching@gmail.com. One-on-one tutoring sessions are available to mini course attendees for $30/hour (50% discount on standard rate) for the entire duration of the class.

ー If you are looking into a Japanese course for beginners after taking this class, please consider our Japanese 101 course. A discount is offered to students who sign up for our Kana Mini Course and Japanese 101 course at the same time.

ー We encourage you to attend using a computer rather than a phone or a tablet, as the instructor will be often sharing her screen to show materials and write on a whiteboard. Please mute your microphone when you enter the class and make sure to have pen and paper handy for real-time practice.

Luisa Montagner the founder and head instructor of Luisa Language Teaching & Tutoring. She grew up in Venice, Italy, where she lived until the age of 22. She moved to the US at the end of 2018 after spending some years in Tokyo, Japan.

Holds a Degree in Japanese studies from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Studied and worked at Yokohama National University from September 2016 to August 2017.

Worked for the prestigious Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute (æ–°å®¿æ—¥æœ¬èªžå¦æ ¡) in Tokyo from 2017 to 2018.
